The new bike sharing service will start on May 6th in Gravina and on May 7th in Altamura, thanks to sharing mobility projects presented by Ferrovie Appulo Lucane and financed by the Puglia Region through funds from D.L. 417/2022, which allocated resources from the National Fund for Local Public Transport to the Regions for the financing of projects promoting sharing mobility.
Following a public notice issued by FAL, the service was awarded to VAIMOO, which has recently activated additional bike sharing services in Molfetta, Giovinazzo, and Asti, and has been present in Bari for over a year.

This project aims at the digitalization of the local public transport system and the development of an integrated platform for planning personalized routes, also choosing among different multimodal solutions. A project that will bring great benefits not only for tourists but especially for commuters and all FAL users in Puglia, who remain our priority. Of the 25 bike stations planned in each of the two municipalities,” they add, “one is close to the FAL railway station (both in Altamura and Gravina), thus allowing users to get off our trains and move by bike, with significant discounts on the cost of e-bike rentals.”
