Thursday 1 August saw the inauguration of the city bicycle rental services for Lot 1 and Lot 2, respectively at 12:00pm in Chieti at the e-Bike Sharing station in Corso Marrucino and at 3:00 p.m. at the e-Bike Sharing station in Piazza del Mare in Giulianova, in the presence of the authorities and operators who will inform citizens about the operation of the new transport system.
The project, which has no cost for the municipalities, was implemented with ministerial contributions for the promotion of sharing mobility destined, through the Abruzzo Region, to TUA S.p.A. which, in turn, entrusted the management to VAIMOO (Angel Holding) through a public notice
The service, active progressively from Monday 5 August in all municipalities involved, consists of a fleet of 280 e-bikes in 80 stations, specifically
- 66 e-bikes in 18 stations in Chieti
- 33 e-bikes in 10 stations in Ortona;
- 13 e-bikes in 4 stations in San Vito Chietino;
- 70 e-bikes in 18 stations in Teramo;
- 42 e-bikes in 12 stations in Giulianova;
- 25 e-bikes in 8 stations in Pineto;
- 18 e-bikes in 6 stations in Alba Adriatica;
- 13 e-bikes in 4 stations in Tortoreto.
The service aims to offer citizens of the municipalities an integrated system between the local public transport services operated by TUA S.p.A. and the new bike sharing service. The VAIMOO fare plan, which is already particularly convenient, thanks to the integration with TUA S.p.A. provides further discounts on the use of the bike sharing service for users in possession of a valid TUA S.p.A. ticket.
